Our national game hockey

Saw a person in a bank using hockey stick to walk. More hockey stick are used in fights than used to play. You ask everyone which is the national game of India, people say hockey. And then ou ask who is the captain of the team, they are mum on that. You ask the same poeple if they can name past five captains of Indian cricket team. They will speak so fast, one wont understand the words. So what is the problem with Indian hockey. Cricket team won 20 over World Cup and the whole india was dancing with the team. But near that world cup, Indian hockey team had won Asia Cup. They went home by taxis. There is no one to receive the players when they come back from a international tournaments. A former cricket captain said that its time to make cricket as the national game of India. Wat is a national game? My ans is the game which has made the country proud. Lets look at the history, we find that hockey has done so much for the team that cricket cannot even think about. Hitler offered Dhyan Chand to play for Germany after looking at his game. There are 15 teams playing cricket and more than 100 nations play hockey. A country like Holland has more than 440 grounds to play hockey. India does not even have 50. Lets see what surprises does this game have to offer now

  1. Cricket was known more after the 1983 win. We were underdogs at that time but anyhow won the WC.We need a miracle like that in hockey too..And also some more matches regularly so that people couldn't forget hockey.
